Indian auto industry is facing a revolution of electric vehicles in market. to meet out the future environment challenges the government it is is focusing on the solutions to reduce the emissions and forming rules for acceptability of electric vehicles is such a move to save the environment. That’s why in recent budget 2019 speech the Indian government has reduced the GST on electric vehicles (EV) from 12% to 5%. and to make EV affordable for consumers government will provide additional income tax deduction of rupees 1.5 Lakh on the interest paid on the lawns taken to purchase electric vehicles.

Hyundai motor India ltd is also ready to launch its first electric car Hyundai Kona on 9th July, 2019. Hyundai kona EV will be India’s first electric SUV. Hyundai Kona price is expected between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.

Hyundai Kona EV is powered by 39.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that offers peak power of 134.13 bhp and torque of 395 Nm. Hyundai Kona will serve you a drive range of 452 km on single charge. If we talk about the battery charging, the kona battery will get the 80% charge in just 54 minutes with 100 kWDC charger.

Hyundai kona comes with  3 years/ unlimited kilometres vehicle warranty and 3 years/ 160,000 kilometres battery warranty. For charging infractures, Hyundai has tie up with IOCL to install chargers at selected fuel pumps across India.
