Hyundai Motor India on Monday launched its new entry-level SUV, the Exter, priced from ₹ 6.0 lakh to ₹ 9.99 lakh.

The vehicle is aimed at young car buyers and will compete against the Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.The Exter is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine that produces 83 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. It is available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT.

The SUV gets features such as a voice-enabled electric sunroof, dashboard camera, and wireless smartphone charger.Hyundai said that the Exter will help it to reclaim market share in the entry-level SUV segment.

The company has been losing market share in this segment to rivals such as Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki.The Exter is the first new product launch from Hyundai in India this year. The company is expected to launch a number of new products in the coming months, including a new electric SUV.
