Update! Hyundai Exter SUV production started in India

Hyundai India has commenced the production of its upcoming micro-SUV, the Exter. Scheduled to be launched in the country on July 10, the bookings for the Exter are already underway. It will be manufactured at Hyundai’s plant in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.

The Exter is loaded with modern and advanced features, including an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a digital driver’s display and an electric sunroof. It will also be powered by the automaker’s tried and tested BS6 Phase 2-compliant, 1.2-litre petrol engine.

Hyundai has not yet revealed the prices of the Exter, but it is expected to be priced between Rs. 6 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh. The Exter will slot between the Grand i10 Nios and Venue in Hyundai’s line-up and will compete with the likes of Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis, and Citroen C3.

With the launch of the Exter, Hyundai is looking to further expand its presence in the Indian subcompact SUV segment. The company already has a strong foothold in this segment with the Grand i10 Nios and Venue, and the Exter is expected to further boost its sales.
