Kia, the South Korean carmaker, has released a new limited edition model of their famous subcompact SUV, the Sonet, called the Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition. The model will be available in four trim levels and would start at Rs 11.85 lakh, according to the manufacturer. This new limited Auroch Edition model, according to the manufacturer, will be based on the HTX type and will be laden with goodies. This special edition, like all others, will solely have cosmetic enhancements and will not include any mechanical adjustments.

In comparison to the standard HTX model, the new Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition will have tangerine highlights on the front grille, front and rear skid plates, and doors. The grille has also been adorned with the Aurochs Edition emblem. The orange treatment will also be applied to the SUV’s side body cladding. The four colour options for the special edition are Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, and Aurora Black Pearl.

Moving on to the interior, much like the exterior, little has changed on the inside with the exception of a new leatherette-wrapped D-cut steering wheel with the Sonet emblem. The Sonet also has a touchscreen infotainment screen, an electric sunroof, leatherette upholstery, a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, and other now-standard gear and gizmos.

The G1.0 T-GDi motor has a maximum output of 118 bhp and a torque of 172 Nm. Meanwhile, maximum power and torque for the 1.5L CRDi VGT are 114 bhp and 250 Nm, respectively.

If you’re in the market for a Kia Sonet, we recently discovered the two most cost-effective models to consider. The Sonet 1.2 HTK Plus (priced at Rs 9.64 lakhs; ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Sonet 1.5 HTK Plus Diesel (priced at Rs 11.39 lakhs; ex-showroom, Delhi) are the two highest VFM variants of the Kia Sonet.

In other Kia news, a Carens EV test mule of the Sonet’s MPV sibling was recently sighted testing in South Korea. According to recent images of this particular test mule, the vehicle was heavily camouflaged, concealing a plethora of detailed characteristics. Nonetheless, we could tell it was an MPV because it resembled the Carens sold in India. The arrangement of the pillars, the beltline, the wheel arches, and the slightly sloping roofline were all notable parallels between the Carens ICE version and this test mule.
