Spy Photo:Tata Safari facelift 2023 to take the SUV game to the next level with redesign, turbo-petrol engine and more!

  • Tata Safari facelift 2023 will feature a completely redesigned front fascia with a full-width LED DRL and new horizontal slats in the grille.
  • The updated SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and a new 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, and is set to launch in October 2023 to compete with the Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar.

Tata Motors has begun testing the significantly updated Safari, which will be available later this year, and camouflaged test mules have been spotted on our roads once more. The upcoming Tata Safari facelift 2023 will be inspired by the Harrier EV concept, which was previewed earlier this year at the Auto Expo. A completely redesigned interior, as well as a new turbo-petrol engine under the hood, are also expected.

Exterior Design in Tata Safari facelift 2023

The Tata Safari’s front fascia will be completely redesigned with the facelift. The split LED headlamps will be retained, but the upper LED DRL will be a full-width light bar stretching across the bonnet. Meanwhile, the main headlamp cluster in the bumper below has been repositioned vertically and given a new trapezoidal shape. This means that the bumper has been completely redesigned, while the grille has received new horizontal slats.

There aren’t any major changes to the profile, but the Safari facelift can be seen with camouflaged wheels, implying a new alloy design. The SUV’s rear end will most likely get slimmer and more connected LED tail-lamps, as well as a slightly modified rear bumper. These design changes will also be applied to the ICE-powered Harrier facelift, which is scheduled for later this year.

Interior features of Tata Safari Facelift 2023

Although the interior of the Safari facelift has not yet been spotted, we anticipate a significant overhaul. Tata has already introduced the new 10.25-inch touchscreen on the Harrier and Safari with the Red Dark Edition, but we anticipate some additional changes to the dashboard design. Perhaps the new two-spoke steering wheel seen on the Nexon facelift test mule will make its way to the Safari facelift.

About Engine and Transmission

The Safari facelift will retain its 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, which produces 170hp and 350Nm of torque and is mated to either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission. The new 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 170hp and 280Nm of torque could also power the updated Safari SUV.

When will Tata Safari Facelift 2023 launch ?

As per media sources , Tata Motors will begin production of the Safari facelift in September 2023 at its Pimpri plant, with a market launch scheduled for October 2023, just before Diwali. It will compete with the 7-seat Mahindra XUV700 and the Hyundai Alcazar when it is released.
