- The Kia Sonet facelift boasts a redesigned front fascia with sharper headlamps, a new Kia grille finished in piano black, and a completely redesigned bumper with larger fog lamp housings.
- Interior changes include new upholstery colours and trims, as well as potential new feature additions, while the powertrain remains unchanged.

The Kia Sonet, which was launched in India in August 2020, is set to get a major facelift, with preliminary spy shots revealing some design cues. The Kia Sonet SUV is manufactured in India and sold not only in the domestic market but also in markets such as Indonesia, Mexico, and the Middle East.
What do spy shots reveal about the Kia Sonet facelift ?
While the Sonet SUV in these spy shots is heavily disguised, some design changes are visible. The test mule has been spotted in South Korea, but because the Sonet is manufactured in South Korea, this mule could be one of the early prototypes sent to Kia headquarters from India for further testing.
The Sonet will get sharper headlamps and a new Kia grille finished in piano black up front. The bumper will also be completely redesigned, with larger fog lamp housings. The headlamps and fog lights appear to be linked by a vertically positioned element, which could be the turn indicators or LED daytime running lights.

In profile, the Sonet looks nearly identical, though some cosmetic changes to the doors and cladding are likely. The alloy wheel and wheel cap designs will be completely new. The spy photos show a test mule wearing Apollo tyres made in India.
The new tailboard design appears to be flatter in the back. The taillamps have also been redesigned, with new L-type units similar to the Seltos facelift, which is set to arrive in India in a few months. While it has not been confirmed, the Sonet facelift may include connected LED units similar to the refreshed Seltos. There is also a chance that it will get dynamic turn indicators, which will be seen on its larger siblings.
New Things in Interior of Kia Sonet Facelift

The Sonet already has a lot of features, such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, a sunroof, and cooled seats, to name a few. Expect some minor interior changes, such as new upholstery colours and trims, as well as new feature additions.
The Kia Sonet, like every other passenger car and SUV sold in India, has recently received powertrain upgrades to meet the stringent Real Driving Emissions (RDE) regulations. An 83hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine power the SUV. The Sonet facelift will not feature any changes to the powertrain.
Kia Sonet Facelift Launching in India
Kia has planned not one, but two major model updates for India. First, we anticipate a midlife update for the larger Seltos in the coming months, followed by the market introduction of the facelifted Sonet by the end of this year or early next year.
