The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is one of the most anticipated SUVs in the Indian market, with the company already receiving over 15,500 bookings for the sub-4m SUV ahead of its launch in the country.

The upcoming sub-4m SUV, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, is based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback. The Baleno roots, however, are barely visible to the untrained eye when looking at the Fronx SUV.

In fact, Maruti Suzuki designers did an admirable job of concealing the majority of the Baleno’s design cues in the new Fronx SUV. The interior of the new Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV, on the other hand, differs only slightly from that of the Baleno hatchback.

The Fronx SUV will have a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, Apple Car Play and Android Auto Connectivity, a wireless charger, a 6-speaker audio system, a push-button start/stop system, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, connected car features, footwell illumination, rear AC vents, a centre armrest, and other features.

Six airbags, ESP, speed alert, seat belt reminder, ABS with EBD braking system, reverse parking sensors, brake assist, seat-belt tensioner, 360-degree surround-view camera system, and other safety features are included in the new Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV is available with two petrol engine options. The base engine is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine that produces 88.5 bhp and 113Nm of torque. This engine is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission.

The 1.0-litre turbocharged engine, on the other hand, produces 98.6bhp and 147.6Nm of peak torque. Furthermore, this engine can be ordered with either a 5-speed manual or a more advanced 6-speed automatic transmission.

With the introduction of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV, the Indo-Japanese automaker hopes to dominate the sub-4m SUV segment in India. Furthermore, the Fronx SUV will help the automaker strengthen its Nexa model lineup.
