Hyundai has launched the Alcazar SUV in India with a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine.The price of new Hyundai Alcazar petrol starts at Rs 16.75 Lakh (ex-showroom).

The Hyundai Alcazar Petrol is available in four trim levels: Prestige, Platinum, Platinum (O), and Signature (O). The final two trim levels are available in both six and seven-seat configurations and only with the DCT automatic transmission.
Bookings for the Alcazar 1.5 turbo began a few weeks ago, with deliveries beginning later this month. The new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine replaces the outgoing 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produced 159hp and 192Nm, increasing power by 1hp and 61Nm. The same new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine will be found in the all-new Verna, which will go on sale on March 21, the Creta SUV, and even Kia’s lineup, including the Seltos and Carens.
According to Hyundai, the new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine is RDE compliant and E20 (Ethanol) fuel ready. There are two transmission options: a six-speed manual and a new seven-speed DCT, which replaces the six-speed torque converter automatic available with the 2.0 petrol.
Hyundai Alcazar Petrol Pricing and Variants
The Alcazar 1.5 turbo is available in four variants, beginning with the entry-level Prestige, which has a 7-seater layout and costs Rs 16.74 lakh. The Alcazar Platinum follows, with a seven-seat configuration and a price tag of Rs 18.65 lakh. Both variants come with a six-speed manual gearbox. The higher-spec Platinum (O) and Signature (O) models have only six seats and the standard 7-speed DCT transmission, and are priced at Rs 19.96 lakh and Rs 20.25 lakh, respectively.

The new Hyundai Alcazar also has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, and a wireless phone charger. The updated SUV now comes standard with airbags and continues to offer safety features such as all-wheel disc brakes, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, and cruise control, among others.

The Alcazar 1.5 turbo-petrol also gets integrated start-stop technology, and Hyundai claims the SUV gets 18kpl with the DCT and 17.5kpl with the manual gearbox. In terms of safety, the Alcazar now comes standard with six airbags, including side and curtain airbags. In terms of appearance, the Alcazar now has a new grille and new puddle lamps in higher variants.
The Alcazar diesel, with its tried-and-true 1.5-litre engine producing 115hp and 250Nm, will remain unchanged. It will be available with a six-speed manual transmission as well as a torque converter automatic transmission.
