At an event in Hyderabad, Mahindra will exhibit its future BE and XUV.e models.

On February 10, Mahindra will showcase its future battery electric SUV lineup at an event in Hyderabad. The SUVs were first shown at the carmaker’s European advanced design centre in August of last year, with the February showing marking the first time the models would be shown on Indian land. The automaker unveiled five new “born electric” SUV ideas, two under the XUV banner and three under the new BE banner. The designs foreshadowed future production models, all of which are projected to appear in the next years.
The electrified XUV lineup includes two models: the XUV.e8 and the XUV.e9, with the former being a more traditional SUV with stylistic cues from the XUV700. Meanwhile, the latter was a sportier-looking SUV coupe with a longer wheelbase.

The BE line includes three models: the BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09. The BE.05 is a 4.3m long small SUV concept with an edgy and dynamic style that previews an all-electric SUV that will compete with products like the MG ZS EV. Meanwhile, the BE.07 featured a more typical upright form, with the production edition aimed as a family SUV. The BE.09 was the last to arrive, a “head-turning” grand tourer SUV with a chiselled design, dynamic roof, and sturdy stance.
Mahindra has previously announced that all vehicles, except the BE.09, will go into production, with all variants based on a new modular INGLO platform. The XUV e.8 will be the first to arrive, with an expected launch in late 2024, followed by the BE.05 in 2025.
Apart from presenting its new electric SUV ideas in Hyderabad, Mahindra will also hand over the keys to the one-of-a-kind XUV400 Exclusive Edition to the auction winner. Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra and Mahindra, will personally hand over the vehicle keys.
