Tata Motors has announced a price increase on its vehicles beginning February 1, 2023. The upcoming price increase, however, will only apply to ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) models.

Having said that, Tata Motors has cited rising input costs and regulatory changes as the primary drivers of the upcoming price increase. Aside from that, all ICE-equipped Tata Motors models are expected to see a 1.2 percent price increase.
Despite the impending price increase, we do not expect Tata Motors’ overall sales to fall. In fact, we expect Tata Motors to maintain its momentum in the coming months, with consistent MoM and YoY sales figures, as the automaker has established a good reputation for build quality.
Aside from that, Tata Motors plans to introduce new CNG models in the coming months, which we anticipate will boost overall sales figures. Furthermore, the automaker is developing newer models, such as electric vehicles. As a result, we do not expect Tata Motors’ sales to fall anytime soon.
Tata Motors is currently competing with Hyundai for second place in terms of sales figures, and we expect Tata Motors to give Hyundai even tougher competition this year. Furthermore, we anticipate that upcoming CNG and electric vehicles will boost Tata Motors’ overall sales figures.
Also, Tata Motors is currently working on the Tata Curvv concept, which features internal combustion engine options and is expected to be positioned above the Tata Nexon to compete with C-Segment SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and a few others.
It is also worth noting that the Hyundai Creta is the best-selling Hyundai product in India, whereas Tata Motors does not have a product in this category. As a result, the launch of the Tata Curvv in the Indian market is expected to significantly boost overall sales figures, while Creta and Seltos sales figures are expected to suffer the most.
