Mahindra Thar 5-Door is set to be officially revealed in mid 2023 as the carmaker plans to launch the SUV soon in India. The upcoming 2WD Thar may debut some new shades while the 4WD Thar is offered in six colours already. The Mahindra Thar 5-door SUV price in India is likely to cost a premium of Rs 70,000 – Rs 80,000 above the current model that is priced between Rs 13.59 lakh to Rs 16.29 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).

The test mule of the Mahindra Thar 5-door SUV has been seen doing rounds on the Indian roads multiple times and the SUV will feature squarish LED tail-lamps, a tailgate-mounted spare wheel as well as a high-mounted stop lamp. The Mahindra Thar five-door SUV will be 15% larger in length and will have 22% longer wheelbase than the current 3-door Thar which measures 3,985mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm.

The upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door SUV will be powered by the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engine as the 3-door Thar. However, the new Thar might produce more power output and it will be available in 6-and 7-seat configurations.
