Toyota Innova Hycross Engine and Transmission
The new Hycross is built on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform and features a monocoque chassis, unlike all prior incarnations of the Innova, which were supported by a ladder-frame design.
There are strong hybrid and gasoline engine options for the Innova Hycross, but no diesel option. The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder strong-hybrid powertrain uses an Atkinson or Miller cycle to increase fuel efficiency. A hybrid powertrain with an e-Drive transmission and a combined output of 184 horsepower is used..
The same 1,987cc engine, which is not a hybrid, produces 172hp and 205Nm when coupled to a CVT gearbox. The Innova Hycross is available in only front-wheel drive and no manual transmission versions. Toyota claims that the hybrid version will get 23.24 kpl of fuel efficiency, while the normally aspirated model would score 16.13 kpl.
It should be noted that the stronger hybrids are the only ones offered in the higher VX, ZX, and ZX (O) trims, while the non-hybrid powertrain is only available in the base G and GX trims.

What you will get on Exterior side ?
With a big, upright grille, a high bonnet line, and body cladding all throughout, Toyota has given the Innova a more SUV-like appearance. The hexagonal grille is surrounded by chrome on the bottom and has wraparound LED headlamps on either side. The bumpers include enormous horizontal Daytime Running Lamps that serve as turn indicators and matte silver inlays.
The profile has a clear MPV form while the front has an SUV appearance. The Hycross receives a huge glasshouse, similar to the Crysta, guaranteeing excellent visibility for all three rows. It features a rear spoiler positioned on the roof, large LED taillights, and a blacked-out rear bumper.
In term of dimensions, the Hycross is 20mm longer, 20mm wider, and has a 100mm longer wheelbase than the Crysta despite having the same height and ground clearance.
Inside the Innova Hycross

The Hycross’ interior completely differs from the Crysta’s in that it has a multi-layered dashboard with horizontal lines. The enormous 10.1-inch floating touchscreen that extends down to the rectangular AC vents and stack of HVAC controls is what draws attention to it.
The gear lever is located on the dashboard, which is decorated with soft-touch leather and metallic accents. While cheaper variations of the MPV have black fabric upholstery, higher variants have a dual-tone brown and black interior motif with Dark Chestnut leather seat upholstery.
Rivals of Toyota Innova Hycross
Although it lacks a direct opponent, the Innova Hycross is in the same price range as three-row SUVs like the Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio N, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari. It will also compete with the Kia Carnival, which is expected to go on sale later in the following year.
