Tata’s first Electric vehicle “Tata Tigor EV ” priced at 9.99 lakh

In presnet Indian automotive market scenerio, industries are shifting from diesel / petrol cars to electric car. As per the government policy, there is need to replace all diesel cars by EVs till 2030. Tata motors is also focusing in development of electric vehicle and one such attempt is shown by introduction of Tata Tigor EV . Tata’s first all-electric vehicle Tata Tigor EV is priced at 9.99 lakh to 10.90 lakh which is yet only available to fleet operators not for private buyer.

As per the Indian Government’s FAME II scheme , an incentive about 1.62 lakh will be provided, so including taxes and incentive Tata Tigor EV priced will be 4 lakh more than the petrol Tigor.

Tata Tigor EV will be available in two mid spec variants – Tata Tigor EV XM and Tata Tigor EV XT. Both the variants are powered by 16.2 kWh battery with power output of 30 kw (41hp) at 4500 rpm and torque of 105 Nm at 25 rpm at fornt wheel through 3 phase AC induction motor. As per the company claim , Tata Tigor EV can drive upto 142 km on single charge. Battery can charged upto 80 percent in 6 hrs via standard AC socket.

Tata Tigor EV is available in three colors white , blue and silver. In term of safety, Tigor EV comes with dual air bag , rear parking sensor and ABS etc. Unlike the petrol Tigor , this EV also features with climate control, LED tail lamp, body colored bumber, power window etc.

Tata Motors offers warrenty of three years or 1.25 lakh with the battery pack.

The biggest challage to the EVs are development of infrastructure for upcoming market. We hope industry will resolve all the concerns and help to imorove the acceptability of EVs by users in coming future.
