Best Cars in India 2018

At the end of 2018 everyone is looking for best cars models of the years in  India, the minds of many would immediately drift to high end exotic cars, that to the average car user would be out of reach. Yes these vehicles may represent the pinnacle of automotive technology and the latest cutting edge computer programming, however, these vehicles generally serve a rather small market. The average car user seeks out a vehicle that is stylish, drives well, has a good safety record and is reasonable priced straight off the bat as well as in the long run. Taking these factors into consideration doesn’t immediately eliminate most high end luxury or sport cars. However, I will like to consider the best possible cars produced in 2018 to own as an average car user.

This new generation automobile entered the Indian market in February of this year, and by the time it was June 2018, Maruti Suzuki had already recorded sales of over 1 lakh units of this particular car. This car, priced within the range of Rs. 4.99 lakh to about Rs. 8.29 lakh is easily one of the best cars you can purchase for less than Rs. 8 lakh. The engines remain pretty much the same with a 1.2 litre petrol and a 1.3 litre diesel engine, however, the cars are more fuel efficient with 22kmpl from the petrol model and 28.4kmpl from the diesel model.

Hyundai Grand i10 facelift  has proved to be far better than most of its competition as the latest model launched recently, included a few cosmetic updates that make it look simply amazing. Top trims of the i10 got nifty improvements such as a reverse parking camera, and a gigabyte of storage for music. The car features a 1.2litre engine which puts out more power than it’s predecessor’s 1.1litre engine, in a car with a spacious cabin that is practical for daily driving. It sports an efficiency of 19.76kmpl from the petrol model and 24.95kmpl for the diesel model.

The Honda CRV is given the award in this category, as a result of it’s affordability, dependability and safety. Trim levels of this model EX and above include some nifty features like forward collision avoidance, automatic braking and lane keeping assist. The base turbocharged 1.5liter four cylinder is rated at 28MPG city driving and 34 on the highway. The more powerful 2.4liter four does slightly less. Prices start at about 28.15 lakh.

  • Volkswagen Ameo

Volkswagen went all out on this 4 metre compact sedan. The Ameo is more or less a compacted model of the Polo but is still an amazing vehicle. Even if this car may not be as visually appealing as most of it’s contenders on the list, it contains some intuitive technology such as rain sensing wipers, cornering lights, a touch screen infotainment system with mirror link, climate control, cruise control and a rear view camera. The Ameo also has ABS and dual airbags. It sports a 1.2 litre petrol engine and a 1.5litre diesel engine. The prices of this model start from Rs. 5.62 lakh and go up to Rs. 9.99 lakh.
